How can we help?

If you get stuck with FoodLib, you are in the right place. We explain the important steps the way they happen in daily life.

First steps

Start with the person you are shopping for.

You are shopping for your child today. First create a person and add what FoodLib should pay attention to.

Then you can check a product and see whether it fits the needs. If something matters, you can save it.

For the next shopping trip, you can prepare a list. If someone shops without a smartphone, you can print the list.

Common everyday situations

I am shopping for my child

You are standing in front of a shelf and want to know whether a food fits your child's needs.

Start by creating a person and adding what FoodLib should pay attention to. Then you can check a product and read the notes calmly.

So you do not have to hold every detail in your head when shopping needs to be quick.

I am shopping for grandma or grandpa

You are bringing something along and do not want to forget what may be important.

Keep notes in FoodLib about what fits well, what should be avoided and which hints matter.

A quick shop can feel a little more secure.

I want to remember what we liked

Sometimes you find something good and cannot remember exactly what it was next time.

Save the product in FoodLib and add a short note.

Next time, you can find what worked more easily.

I would rather avoid a product

Some things should not land in the basket again.

Save that note directly with the product.

FoodLib can remind you when you stand in front of it again.

I want to make a list for someone else

Maybe someone else is doing the shopping today.

Collect fitting products in a shopping list and share it.

Another person can help without having every detail explained again.

I want to print a shopping list

Not everyone wants to or can shop with a smartphone.

Print the list and give it to the person who is shopping.

People without a smartphone can still take part in shared shopping.

I cannot find a product

Sometimes there is no matching product data yet.

Check the barcode again or add the product yourself.

You can still use FoodLib for your own notes.

I want to add a product without a barcode

Not everything that matters in daily life has a barcode.

Add the product manually and write down what you want to remember.

FoodLib stays useful even when there is no barcode.

I want to report a product data issue

Product data can be incomplete or incorrect.

Tell us what you noticed. Briefly describe the product and what seems wrong.

This helps notes and data be checked and improved.

Where does product data come from?

FoodLib can use publicly available data.

FoodLib can load product information from publicly available data sources such as Open Food Facts. When you scan, the barcode is used to find matching product data. Personal profiles, notes and rules stay on your device or in your iCloud and are not sent to Open Food Facts.

Your data belongs to you.

What you remember stays with you.

Personal data is stored locally on your device.

If you choose, you can sync it across your devices through iCloud.

FoodLib shows no advertising and does not use tracking in the app.

Personal notes or rules are not shared with product data sources.

Important note

FoodLib supports you while shopping.

The app does not replace medical, pharmaceutical or nutritional advice. For allergies, intolerances or medical questions, the information on the original packaging and qualified professional advice are always decisive.
